11 Questions to a Nashville Musician: Dixie Jade

Dixie Jade

Dixie Jade are a powerhouse pop-country duo originally from California now making their home in Nashville. Andrea Crisalli (vocals and piano) and Dominique Ruiz (vocals and lead guitar) have just released a new single. They call this one “Double Take,” and it features two fresh tracks that you can hear in all the usual places.

Here’s a video of Dixie Jade playing “Rocking Away” from the new single on “Today in Nashville.” I’m sure this lively performance brightened a lot of folks’ lunch hour. As partners in songwriting as well as performing, Andrea and Dominique blend their respect for classic country with their love for pop radio. These loveable bouncy and danceable songs will make you reach for the dial to turn up the volume. And, I suspect that it won’t be long before Dixie Jade make their mark on the airwaves!

We thank these young ladies for joining in on the 11 Questions fun. You can see them at the Cambria Hotel’s True Music Room downtown on Monday, April 29 at 7pm for the great price of FREE and make a reservation through the band’s website.

Where are you from originally, when did you move to Nashville and why?

We’re both from California (Dominique is from Cupertino, and Andrea is from Simi Valley). We moved here six years ago because we both loved country music and wanted to come to Music City for the amazing songwriters and musicians.

Andrea: Tim McGraw’s Set This Circus Down was the first CD I purchased. The last album I bought was from local Nashville artist Lexie Hayden called The Drive (on iTunes).

First and last live concerts that you’ve seen?

Dominique: My first concert was the Backstreet Boys into the Millennium Tour, and the last concert I went to was the Foo Fighters at Bridgestone Arena.

Andrea: My first concert was also the Backstreet Boys, and my last concert was seeing The Outliers perform at the Stage downtown.
