Mike’s Music Lists: Songs Whose Titles Are No More Than a Year

prince-1999Song lyrics sometimes relate to or tell a story about a certain time period. This time can be historic, literary, nostalgic or perhaps even personal to the songwriter. On occasion, songwriters have made this time reference the title of their song.

So here’s the drill: a list of songs whose title is nothing more than the numbers of a year. No stretching it—only ones where the complete song title is limited to just four numbers. (Unless of course you are in an odd century that dictates more or less.) Any added words or punctuation marks disqualify it from my rules. Here’s what I have come up with so far.

Can you think of anymore? Please note them in the comment section below, and I will add them to the list.
