I was quite saddened to hear this past week that underground Nashville music legend Dave Cloud had passed away. While my son attended Belmont University over the past few years, he had the honor of befriending Dave on the porch of Bongo Java where he regularly held court. I was hopeful that I would someday get to meet this most interesting fellow, but unfortunately never got around to it.

By the way, for those of you who may miss the original Bongo porch, my son and his friend took all of the wood before they had a chance to discard it. They are still searching for a fitting use for the remnants of this once-hallowed location.
