Nearing the end of their first U.S. tour, Elvis Costello & the Attractions made their New York City debut at its premier music club, The Bottom Line. After two nights there and a private show in the city on the following night, the tour ended with a Friday night show in Jersey at Asbury Park’s Stone Pony. Before heading back home to England, Costello made his infamous appearance on Saturday Night Live. A pretty impressive week in the Big Apple!
With most of the tickets taken up by the record label, The Bottom Line shows sold-out before I had a chance to buy a ticket. Fortunately, I was able to get into the early show on the second night through the standing-room-only ticket line. Upon entry, the club ripped your ticket in half; however, while leaving the show, I found the full one pictured here laying on a table.
